Dara D. Spearman, M.D.
Board Certified, Dermatology

Dear Patient,
It is with great enthusiasm that I join Dermatology Associates of West Michigan. I look forward to getting to know you and working with you to treat your skin conditions and address your concerns. When you visit our office, you will be treated with compassion and the utmost of care.   I love the field of dermatology and feel privileged to be part of such a great specialty.

During my training at the University of Michigan, I saw hundreds of patients and treated many common and rare dermatological conditions. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the leaders in our field and to learn not only about clinical dermatology, but also about new advances in research. I have had extensive training in general dermatology as well as skin cancer surgery and dermatopathology. I have also had training in cosmetic dermatology and am interested in laser surgery as well as non-invasive cosmetic procedures. I enjoy working with patients of all ages and have a particular interest in skin of color.

I am a Michigan native, I was born in Lansing, but moved to Jenison prior to starting school. I attended Hope College for my undergraduate studies, which prepared me well for medical school at the University of Michigan.  Go Blue! I did my transitional year internship at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan, after which I returned to University of Michigan for my dermatology residency.

During medical school, I married my husband, Marlon. Then, during residency, we had beautiful twin boys.  Never a dull moment, as you can imagine! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, spending time with my family and friends and being active in my church.
